This policy explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices available to you. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

We collect personal information that you give us directly, which may include your first name, last name, telephone number, email address, suburb, the address where the vehicle will be, and details about the vehicle and the damage you are enquiring about, such as its make, model and build year. We only ask for information we genuinely need in order to respond to you, quote accurately, or carry out the work.

Photographs you send us

Our quote form lets you attach a photograph of the damage, and we encourage it, because a photograph is usually enough for us to tell you whether glass can be repaired or needs replacing before anyone travels. A photograph can contain more than the damage. Depending on how it is taken it may show your number plate, your driveway or street, a house number, other vehicles, or people nearby.

We use the photographs you send only to assess the damage, prepare a quote and identify the correct glass for your vehicle. We do not publish them, use them in advertising or on this website, or share them with anyone outside the people involved in quoting and carrying out your job, unless you have given us permission or we are required to disclose them by law. If you would rather not send a photograph, you do not have to: describe the damage instead and we will ask whatever questions we need over the phone.

Enquiry and quote forms

When you submit a quote request or enquiry through this website, the details you enter, including any photograph you attach, are transmitted to our team by email so that we can respond to you. This transmission is handled on our behalf by a third party form delivery service. That service processes the submission only for the purpose of delivering it to us and does not use your information for its own marketing.

We use the information in an enquiry to contact you about your request, to prepare a quote, to schedule a service visit, and to keep a record of the work discussed. We do not add enquiry details to marketing lists.

Analytics and cookies

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information including the pages you view, the time and duration of your visit, the approximate geographic region derived from your IP address, the type of device and browser you are using, and the website or search engine that referred you.

We use this information only in aggregate, to see which pages and services are most useful to visitors and to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not combine analytics data with the contact details you submit through a form.

We also record when a visitor clicks a telephone number or submits a quote request, so that we can measure how well the website is serving people who need our help. These records capture the action taken and the page it happened on, not the content of any conversation.

Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted by Google.

You can prevent analytics collection at any time. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings, and Google provides a browser add on that opts you out of Google Analytics across all websites. Blocking these cookies will not affect your ability to use this website, request a quote, or contact us.

How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect to respond to enquiries and provide quotes, to identify and order the correct glass for your vehicle, to schedule and carry out repair and replacement work, to contact you about a job in progress, to meet our legal and insurance obligations, and to improve this website and the services we offer.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with the general public or with marketing databases. Your details are not used for surveys or polls.

We share information only where it is necessary, for example with the technician attending your vehicle, with the suppliers we order your glass from, with the service providers who operate this website and its analytics and form delivery functions, and with professional advisers, insurers or authorities where we are required to do so by law. Where your vehicle needs a calibration carried out by a dealership, we may pass on the details necessary to arrange it, at your request. Where you are claiming on insurance, we may provide your insurer with details of the work at your request.

Some of these providers, including Google, may store or process data on servers outside Australia.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This website is served over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, or ask us to delete it, including any photographs you have sent us. Send your request by email to info@sydneywindscreenpros.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period. Please note that we may need to retain certain records, such as invoices and job histories, where we are required to do so for legal, tax or insurance reasons.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we have the opportunity to resolve it. If you remain dissatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or to legal requirements. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
